Tennessee Area Director

The American Foundation for Suicide Prevention (AFSP) seeks qualified candidate for the position of Area Director for Tennessee. The Area Director is responsible for organizing and implementing the Chapter’s signature Out of the Darkness walks and other fundraising, board development and programmatic activities throughout the state. Specific responsibilities include recruiting, organizing, and supervising volunteers for local events, attending to logistical details, securing sponsorships, supervising the actual events, and financial oversight. Position will work out of a home office and must be willing to travel throughout the state.

Qualifications

Five Years experience with a demonstrated track record of conducting financially successful fundraising events in a national nonprofit organization, preferably a health-related organization with chapters. Demonstrated skills in volunteer recruitment and development and budgeting and planning. Bachelor’s degree with strong interpersonal and communications skills required.  Experience as a staff person working with nonprofit Boards preferred.

North Carolina Area Director

North Dakota and South Dakota Area Director

The American Foundation for Suicide Prevention (AFSP) seeks qualified candidate for the position of full-time Area Director for North Dakota and South Dakota. The Area Director is responsible for all fundraising in ND and SD, as well as chapter development and programmatic activities throughout both states. Specific responsibilities include recruiting, organizing, and supervising volunteers for local fundraising events, attending to logistical details, securing sponsorships, supervising the actual events, and financial oversight. Position will be based in Fargo and work out of home office.

Qualifications

Proven track record supervising fundraising events at a national nonprofit organization, preferably walks or other related events. Demonstrated skills in special event fundraising, volunteer management, budgeting and planning. Bachelor’s degree with strong interpersonal and communications skills required. Experience as a staff person working with nonprofit Boards preferred.

Maryland Area Director

The American Foundation for Suicide Prevention (AFSP) Maryland Chapter seeks qualified candidate for Area Director, state of Maryland. Area Director is responsible for organizing and implementing our signature event, Out of the Darkness walks, chapter fundraising, board development and programmatic activities. Responsibilities include financial oversight of budgets and business plans, securing sponsorships, managing events and recruiting, organizing, and supervising volunteers for programs and events. Territory includes all cities and towns in Maryland. Position is based in Maryland working from a home office. Must be willing to travel throughout chapter service area.

Qualifications

5-7-years proven fundraising success at a national health based nonprofit organization planning Walks, Galas and Endurance events. Extensive experience managing nonprofit Boards, overseeing staff, developing business plans and annual budgets. Must have a proven track record with volunteer recruitment and program delivery. Bachelor's degree with strong interpersonal and communications skills (verbal and written).

Eastern Massachusetts Area Director

The American Foundation for Suicide Prevention (AFSP) Boston Chapter seeks qualified candidate for Eastern Massachusetts Area Director. Area Director is responsible for organizing and implementing our signature event, Out of the Darkness walks, chapter fundraising, board development and programmatic activities. Responsibilities include financial oversight of budgets and business plans, securing sponsorships, managing events and recruiting, organizing, and supervising volunteers for programs and events. Territory includes all Eastern MA towns. Area Director will manage the Associate Area Director. Position will be based in the Greater Boston Area working from a home office. Must be willing to travel throughout chapter service area.
