Scientific research is at the core of AFSP’s program, as more lives will be saved by advances in our knowledge of why suicide occurs and by advances in the treatment of depressed and suicidal individuals. Our AFSP prevention, research, education, survivor initiative and advocacy programs bring that knowledge to mental health professionals, physicians, gatekeepers and others concerned with the identification and/or care of those at risk. AFSP’s Menu of Programs outlines all of our AFSP programs.
AFSP chapters across the country continue to have a high profile in local communities through the deliverance of these programs. We must continue to create value and a return on the investment that donors, walkers, survivors, etc. are making in AFSP by helping them to understand what AFSP is doing as a result of their support.
In support of the National initiatives, AFSP offers a wide range of programs and materials for Chapters to implement and distribute in their designated service areas.
