How to Organize an ISOS Loss Day Event Outside the United States

Suicide touches people on every continent, and in each country and community.

Every year, thousands of survivors join for International Survivors of Suicide Loss Day in countries as diverse as India, Australia, Italy, Japan, Kenya, Ghana, Costa Rica, and Chile. At these local gatherings, survivors can share their experience of loss and healing with others who understand.

Whether you are in the U.S. or abroad, you can bring this program to your community. We will send you free materials, including the International Survivors of Suicide Loss Day DVD program, to help you organize a gathering in your community. Learn how to do it and what to expect at www.afsp.org/survivorconference.

Adjusting to Your Local Time Zone

In the U.S., local gatherings show the ISOS Loss Day DVD from 1:00 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. Eastern Standard Time. Because this is likely to be inconvenient in foreign time zones, we encourage you to show the DVD from 1:00 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. in your own local time.

Languages

The 2013 ISOS Loss Day DVD may be viewed with Spanish, French, or English subtitles.
