Step 11: Afterwards

(November to December)

Mail the Attendee Evaluation Forms and an Attendee List, (with names, mailing addresses, and email addresses) to AFSP Survivor Initiatives Department, 120 Wall Street, 29th Floor, New York, NY 10005.

Organizer Feedback. We'll email you a short questionnaire following the gathering. Please share your feedback with us so that we can continue to improve International Survivors of Suicide Loss Day each year.

Save the Date for Next Year. ISOS Loss Day is always the Saturday before American Thanksgiving. AFSP's 17th Annual International Survivors of Suicide Loss Day will be held on Saturday, November 21, 2015. If your 2014 location worked out well, why not reserve it now for next year?

Highly Suggested

Send thank you notes to sponsors and volunteers. Send attendees a card or email to thank them for coming and to wish them comfort during the holiday season.

Send “Sorry We Missed You” letters or emails to survivors who signed up but did not come. For some people, it’s hard to grieve and heal in a public setting. Let them know that they can watch the 90-minute broadcast on their computers at any time at www.afsp.org/survivorday.

Send Save the Date Cards in the Spring to past attendees with an invitation to contact you if they would like to volunteer for the next ISOS Loss Day gathering. Contact past volunteers to find out if they would like to help again.

Relax and take a bow. You have given your community an amazing gift. For survivors everywhere, we thank you!
