Memorial Funds

Establishing an AFSP Memorial Fund can be a deeply meaningful and lasting way to honor a loved one.

Memorial funds help to support AFSP’s efforts to understand and prevent suicide, and to heal the harm it causes.

You can establish a Memorial Fund in your loved one’s name by making a contribution yourself, by asking others for gifts to the fund in lieu of flowers, or by directing proceeds from a fundraising event into the fund. Once the fund has been established, you can keep it growing through contributions from family, friends, business associates, and others wishing to honor the your loved one’s memory.

There is no minimum gift required to establish a fund, and a contribution of at least $50 per year will allow it to renew annually.

After establishing a Memorial Fund you will have the ability to create a webpage to recruit additional funds. You’ll also receive a quarterly update listing the fund’s donors and recognition in AFSP’s Annual Report.

A Memorial Fund is a meaningful way to honor the memory of a loved one while supporting the work of the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention.
