First, make a list of possible legal advisors. To get started, take the following steps: • Ask family members, friends, other advisors, and coworkers for recommendations. • Ask a banker for referrals. Most banks will give you the names of three lawyers who are experienced in a legal specialty, such as estate settlement. • The law is very state-specific.
