AFSP-North Dakota
The North Dakota Chapter of AFSP was formed in May 2007 by Mary Weiler, who lost her daughter Jennifer to suicide in October 2005. After spearheading North Dakota's first Out of the Darkness Community Walk in October 2006 Mary formed the chapter to ensure that the money raised would be used in her community and across her state.
In the fall of 2011, the ND Chapter held 6 Out of the Darkness Community Walks across the state, helping communities bring AFSP programs and materials to their area. Over $120,000 was raised to help prevent suicide in our state and across our country.
