Through AFSP's TV and radio public service announcements, the Foundation's teen suicide prevention public service awareness campaign, "Suicide Shouldn't Be A Secret," has enabled the Foundation to spread its suicide prevention message to teens in schools and throughout the country.

Since its initial distribution in June 2000, AFSP's teen PSAs have reached over 88 million viewers in 85 markets nationwide. The message conveyed to teens is that it is okay to break a friend's trust in order to get him or her help.

The spot, which features real teens talking about the importance of getting help for a friend at risk for suicide, has appeared on stations in Albuquerque, Baltimore, Cincinnati, Denver, Detroit, Houston, Las Vegas, Los Angeles, Minneapolis, New Orleans, Phoenix, Pittsburgh, San Francisco, Seattle, Nashville, Salt Lake City and West Palm Beach.
