-National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) NewJersey is a statewide non profit organization dedicated to improving the lives of  individuals and families who are affected by mental illness. www.naminj.org

 NAMI NEW JERSEY provides education, support and systems advocacy to empower families and  persons with mental illness. Affiliate self-help and grassroots advocacy groups located in each county  offer emotional support, information and advice about treatment and community resources.

-Depression and Bipolar Disorder Support Alliance New Jersey www.dbsa.org is a state chapter of national DBSA and a networking organization of DBSA Support Groups in New Jersey. These groups provide education, support, outreach and advocacy for people living with mood disorders in New Jersey.

Mission- improve the lives of people living with mood disorders by:

  • nurturing the development of mood disorder support groups and  providing mutual support and networking;

  • educating residents about the nature of mood disorders as treatable medical illnesses;

  • improving access to mental health services and increasing awareness about mental health issues; and

  • acting as a link between the DBSA national office and its affiliated chapters and local support groups in New Jersey

-Carrier Clinic is a private, not-for-profit behavioral healthcare system founded in 1910 that specializes in psychiatric and addiction treatment. Psychiatric Inpatient Hospitalization

At Carrier, hospital stays tend to be brief, with the goal of crisis intervention, medical stabilization and transition to the next appropriate level of care. Treatment teams consist of a psychiatrist, psychiatric nurse, licensed clinical social workers, allied clinical therapists and certified addiction counselors.

  • Psychiatric Acute Care
  • General Adult Psychiatric & Dual Diagnosis
  • Adolescent Psychiatric & Dual Diagnosis (ages 13-18)
  • Older Adult Psychiatric & Dual Diagnosis (ages 65+)
Addiction Services include:
  • Residential Addiction Recovery
  • Residential Detoxification
  • Residential Rehabilitation
  • Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP)
Adolescent Services include:
  • Inpatient Hospitalization
  • East Mountain School
  • East Mountain Youth Lodge
Special Services:
  • Electroconvulsive Therapy –(ECT) is offered as both an inpatient and outpatient service
