Through the contribution of their time, talent, and passion, our volunteers are leading the movement to prevent suicide in local communities across the nation.
They are the driving force behind increasing the public’s awareness of suicide as a public health issue that is preventable. Together, our chapter volunteers deliver innovative prevention programs for schools and business, reach out to survivors of suicide loss, organize fundraising events, and act as a go-to resource for their entire community.
Whatever your background, strengths, or interests, our chapter needs you. Let’s make a difference in the lives of those who have been touched by suicide in our community. Please join us today.
How you can help our Oregon Chapter
Our chapter is working hard in our great state to fight for suicide prevention, and to support those who have experienced suicide loss. We are volunteer lead and there are many opportunities for volunteering on a one-off basis, or commit to joining a committee and supporting our chapter year-round.
Join a committee and help year round
Advocacy Committee | Assists with local and national suicide prevention and survivor ship advocacy as approved by the national Washington DC office.
Community Outreach Committee | Help us identify community events, fairs etc where our local chapter should have a presence
Education Committee | Shall oversee all educational activities of the chapter
Media Committee | Seeking volunteers who have a passion for social media and/or experience with public relations/media relations/marketing. Also seeking volunteers who are interested in helping us keep an eye out for local Washington media coverage of suicide. We can send you more detailed info if you are interested.
