The American Foundation for Suicide Prevention (AFSP) is the leading national not-for-profit organization exclusively dedicated to understanding and preventing suicide. Over the past 25 years, we have become a global force in research, education and advocacy, and reaching out to people with mental disorders and those impacted by suicide in an effort eliminate the loss of life by suicide.

As the Oregon Chapter grows, our need for sustained funding and organizational discipline has also increased. For these and many other reasons, we are excited to announce that we are accepting applications for dedicated new leaders. We are looking for individuals to help develop and support local programs and initiatives to ensure that suicide prevention remains a priority in our community.

If you are interested in this opportunity, we invite you to request information by emailing Oregon@afsp.org.

With suicide claiming more than 33,000 lives each year, the importance of AFSP’s mission has never been greater, nor your support more urgent. I truly hope you will consider joining us as I know that your contributions would be invaluable.

Thank you for taking the time to read this letter and to consider being a part of the Oregon Chapter Board of Directors.
