AFSP-Los Angeles
to the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention's Greater Los Angeles Chapter
More than 30,000 suicides occur in the U.S. every year and with each one, 6 to 10 people are profoundly affected...they're known as "Survivors of Suicide". Through research and education, AFSP is working to lessen the number of suicides and the devastating effect inflicted on those touched by them.
The American Foundation for Suicide Prevention is dedicated to advancing our knowledge of suicide and our ability to prevent it.
"Sometimes I wish the internet was around 40+ years ago when my father died by suicide. After all these years, I still wonder if we'd known the warning signs and knew what to do, would he not have died that way? Having such important, life-saving, easily-accessible information today is great! The question is...who has the will to explore it? I'm so glad you're here."
