AFSP Raises Concerns Over DC Comics' Talent Search; Company Apologizes

On Sept. 5, DC Comics announced a talent search competition looking for artists to develop ways to depict four different suicide attempts by one of its main villains, Harley Quinn, as part of a new book being released in November. AFSP, along with the American Psychiatric Association and the National Alliance on Mental Illness released a joint statement calling the talent search insensitive and potentially dangerous.
