Best Practices Registry for Suicide Prevention is collaboration between AFSP and the Suicide Prevention Resource Center that informs those working to prevent suicide about evidence-based programs, protocols for program and policy development, and materials, policies, and practices that likely meet stated objectives and safety standards.
Started in 2003, the BPR identifies and reviews promising approaches to suicide prevention, and maintains an online registry of best practices that address specific objectives of the National Strategy for Suicide Prevention. The registry is located on the SPRC website.
The BPR provides program developers and evaluators with technical assistance to help them meet rigorous evaluation standards, particularly those set by the National Registry of Evidence-Based Programs and Practices.
The SPRC is hosted by Education Development Center, Inc., and is funded through a grant from the U.S. Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration.
