Stress and Suicide: Impact of Omega-3 Fatty Acid Deficiency on Inflammation and Sucidal Behavior
Identifying biological processes that contribute to suicide risk and are amenable to clinical intervention is critical. The theory that the chronic stress of omega‐3 fatty acid deficiency leads to inflammation and aggression, which then contribute to suicidal behaviors is investigated. Each factor is potentially linked to treatments to reduce suicide.
