Organizing an ISOS Loss Day Event

Each year in November on the Saturday before American Thanksgiving, at scores of locations in the United States and around the world, people who have been touched by suicide come together for International Survivors of Suicide Loss Day.

International Survivors of Suicide Loss Day gatherings offer an opportunity for those who have survived a suicide loss to share information, mutual support, and healing.

At these local events, participants view a DVD presentation that features survivors of suicide loss sharing their stories and guidance, with experts revealing current information about suicide and grief.  

It’s easy to  organize an International Survivors of Suicide Loss Day gathering in your own community with the help of our Step-by-Step Guide. With your assistance, families and individuals who have lost a loved one to suicide can join together for support, knowing they are not alone.

What do I need to do?

If you have not already registered to hold an ISOS Loss Day event for 2014, please contact your field staff at your local AFSP Chapter for further information on hosting an event in your area.
